I started working with wire a few years ago - mainly creating festive images for Christmas cards - and I continue to love its versatility. An otherwise run-of-the-mill material can be manipulated and transformed into something quite beautiful with a little love. Using thin zinc wire and combining it with shiny printed paper inserts and iridescent heavy weight folded cards, these floral tributes make unique and special Spring invitations. Deriving inspiration from a wedding bouquet or favourite bloom, the guests who receive these will know to expect an extraordinary day.
Every now and again I deliver a batch of invitations I wish I had created for my own wedding! Inspired by the upcoming franco-britannique union of this Toulouse based couple, I couldn't help but be inspired by the vibrancy of the red, white and blue. The couple wanted a design that both reflected their heritage and their journey as a couple. Guests are encouraged to spot the personal and cultural references! Evening invitations completed the invitation package. Jalouse, moi? |
